POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facilities Maintenance Worker performs hands-on facility, maintenance, and janitorial tasks across CHASI locations to support safe, clean, and functional work environments. Working under moderate supervision, this role carries out assigned work orders, sets up and breaks down spaces, performs routine cleaning and minor repairs, maintains accurate inventory of supplies and materials, and reports facility needs to the Director of Operations. The Facilities Maintenance Worker follows established procedures and exercises sound judgment within defined practices to complete tasks accurately and on time.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Facilities Maintenance Worker performs hands-on facility, maintenance, and janitorial tasks across CHASI locations to help ensure safe, clean, and functional environments. Working under supervision from the Director of Operations, this role carries out assigned work orders, sets up and breaks down spaces for meetings and events, performs routine cleaning and minor repairs, and flags issues that require escalation. The Facilities Maintenance Worker follows established procedures and exercises judgment within defined practices to complete tasks in a timely and professional manner.

Facilities  

  • Assist with building access tasks, including key sign-out and returning keys as directed. 
  • Set up and break down tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, events, and agency activities; rearrange spaces as directed. 
  • Report building conditions and maintenance needs to supervisor in a timely manner. 
  • Complete assigned work orders accurately and within expected timeframes, following up with supervisor as needed.
  • Participate in facility walkthroughs and support compliance activities as directed, including fire safety and safety checks.

Janitorial  

  • Perform cleaning duties across CHASI sites, including sanitation of offices, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas. 
  • Complete janitorial tasks as assigned, ensuring work is done to standard and on schedule.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards across assigned areas and alert supervisor when additional support or resources are needed. 
  • Follow infection control and biohazard safety protocols as applicable. 
  • Assist with periodic floor care tasks, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, waxing, and carpet care. 
  • Dispose of trash, recycling, and waste materials properly and according to schedule. 

Maintenance  

  • Set up and arrange office spaces for new or transitioning staff, including furniture placement and ensure the workspace is clean and ready for use.
  • Perform assigned minor repairs under the direction of the supervisor, escalating issues that require vendor or specialist involvement.
  • Perform minor repairs as assigned, including painting, patching, fixture replacement, and basic plumbing tasks such as unclogging drains. 
  • Support preventative maintenance tasks as directed, including routine inspections of HVAC filters, plumbing, and life-safety systems (e.g., fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, emergency lighting). 
  • Assist with vendor access and site coordination for specialized repairs as directed by the supervisor. 
  • Communicate recurring maintenance issues or patterns to supervisor for follow-up and resolution. 
  • Assist with routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks as assigned, including checking HVAC filters, lighting, plumbing, and life-safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, and smoke detectors, emergency). 
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working conditions and report repair or replacement needs.  

Administrative Responsibilities 

  • Log completed work orders and report status updates through designated platforms (e.g., CATS system) as directed.
  • Follow established systems, workflows, and procedures for facilities maintenance activities as directed by the supervisor. 
  • Follow Operations policies and procedures and raise questions or concerns to supervisor as they arise. 
  • Complete basic documentation related to work completed, supply use, and inspections as directed. 
  • Maintain accurate inventory of supplies and materials, track usage, and submit purchase requests or reorders as needed to ensure adequate stock levels across sites.
  • Keep work area and shared spaces organized and accessible.
  • Assist with receiving supplies and materials; notify supervisor when inventory is running low.
  • Ensure facilities of operations align with CHASI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 



Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS or HSE; Some college, Associates, or bachelor's preferred. 
  • A valid driver’s license is required. 
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods. 
  • Bi-lingual preferred 
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to use work order or ticketing systems preferred

FLSA Status: Exempt

Pay & Benefits: $41,600 - $46,600 annually, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity.
