We are currently hiring Site Coordinators to support at KIPP Wheeler and KIPP Douglass.
Reports To: Area Director
Schedule: Before & After School, School Breaks, and Summer Programs
Monday-Friday: 6:30AM-8AM and 3:30PM-6PM*
*schedule may vary slightly based on location
We are currently looking for candidates who are available to work the full schedule as listed all five days a week for both shifts. We cannot accommodate partial shifts.
Pay: $30-39/hour, Based on experience and region
Position Overview
The Head Coach serves as the leader of an after-school program site, creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children. This hands-on leadership role combines youth development, staff supervision, program operations, and relationship building with families and school partners.
The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and passionate about helping children build confidence, resilience, and life skills.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Lead daily program operations and ensure a positive experience for students.
- Facilitate engaging enrichment, academic support, recreation, and character-building activities.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming program environment.
- Manage student attendance, transitions, and dismissal procedures.
Team Development
- Supervise and support site staff.
- Provide coaching, training, and ongoing feedback to team members.
- Lead staff meetings and promote a positive team culture.
Family & School Partnerships
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and school personnel.
- Communicate program updates, successes, and student needs.
- Represent the organization professionally within the school community.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate program records and documentation.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and behavioral concerns.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in education, childcare, youth development, recreation, or a related field.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead staff while actively engaging with children.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be willing to take and pass a background check and drug screening
Education/Experience Requirements:
Must be 21 years old and meet one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Bachelor's Degree in any field AND 1 year of supervised work experience working with school age children under the age of 15 in a licensed facility
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education AND 1 year of experience working in a childcare setting
- At least 48 credits hours from an accredited college/university in education AND at least 18 months of supervised work experience
- A DC Director Credential AND 2 years of supervised work experience working in a childcare setting
Physical Requirements
- Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program hours.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
