We are currently hiring for staff to support our programs at KIPP Wheeler and KIPP Douglass
Reports To: Head Coach/Site Leadership
Schedule: Part-Time (Before & After School Programs, School Breaks, and Summer Programs)
Monday-Friday: 6:30AM-8AM and 3:30PM-6PM*
*hours may vary slightly.
We are looking for candidates who are available to work all five days of the week for one or both shifts. We cannot accommodate partial shifts
Pay: $23-28/hour, Based on experience and region
Position Overview
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children? As a Resilience Coach, you will help create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where students can build confidence, develop life skills, and thrive.
This is an active, hands-on role that combines mentorship, enrichment, recreation, and academic support. We are looking for positive, energetic team members who enjoy working with school-age children and creating meaningful connections every day.
Key Responsibilities
Student Engagement & Support
- Build positive relationships with students and create a welcoming environment.
- Serve as a role model by promoting respect, responsibility, and resilience.
- Support students through positive behavior guidance and conflict resolution.
- Ensure student safety and well-being at all times.
Program Delivery
- Lead engaging enrichment, recreation, and team-building activities.
- Facilitate homework help and academic support sessions.
- Participate in games, fitness activities, and outdoor play.
- Help students develop social-emotional and leadership skills.
Program Operations
- Assist with daily program setup and cleanup.
- Support student check-in, attendance, and dismissal procedures.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and positive learning environment.
- Follow all company policies, licensing requirements, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children in schools, childcare programs, camps, recreation programs, or youth organizations preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, patience, and a genuine passion for youth development.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Candidates must be 18 years or older and meet one of the following requirements:
- An Associate's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Education or similar field
- At least 48 credit hours from an accredited college/university with at least 9 credits in education or similar AND 6 months of supervised work experience working with kids under age 15 in a licensed childcare facility
- A high school diploma or equivalant AND 1 year of supervised work experience working with kids under age 15 in a licensed childcare facility
Physical Requirements
- Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program hours.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
