Description

 

A Preschool Aide supports the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. This role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, supervising children, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, and encouraging children's social, emotional, and educational development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher with planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities. 
  • Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and rest time. 
  • Help children develop social, emotional, and communication skills through positive guidance. 
  • Prepare and organize classroom materials and learning centers. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom environment. 
  • Assist children with personal care needs, including handwashing, toileting, and dressing, as needed. 
  • Observe children's behavior and report concerns or progress to the lead teacher. 
  • Support classroom routines, transitions, and behavior management. 
  • Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and administrators. 
  • Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
Requirements

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred. 
  • Experience working with young children is preferred. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. 
  • Patience, reliability, and a genuine interest in working with children. 
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and actively participate in classroom and playground activities. 
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) may be required. 
  • Successful completion of required background checks.

Work Environment:

Salary Description
$15 - $17/hour based on experience
