Description
Conifer Park is looking for an Assistant Director of Nursing to Join our Inpatient Facility in Glenville, NY.
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing plans, organizes and directs patient care systems to support clinical, medical and nursing practice on the Primary Care and Rehabilitation Units.
Additional Responsibilities include, but may not limit to:
- Participates in Triaging Behaviors and Psych Consults
- Assists scheduler with staffing and scheduling, tracking overtime and benefit time, personnel and fiscal resources, managing payroll/Paypro and ensuring adequate staffing at all time
- Manages material resources in a cost effective manner, ensuring adequate medical supplies, narcotics and over the counter medications
- Manages methadone/narcotic reconciliation, ordering, packaging and stocking of narcotic cabinets
- Coordinate with pharmacy to monitor stocking and returns
- Tracks durable medical supplies
- Participates in setting standards for patient care on all units
- Identifies staff instructional needs and provides for same
- Monitor yearly mandatories, programs and schedules
- Provides CPR classes as needed for the facility.
- In collaboration with the Director of Nursing evaluates patient programs relative to area of clinical practice
- Contributes input on job performance appraisal of employees assigned to the unit
- Coordinates periodic review to measure and document quality of care rendered by the Nursing staff and track medication errors
- Performs QA audits of documentation, care plans and medex signatures
- Participates in the interviewing of prospective employees of the unit
- Plans for and supervises the orientation of new employees
- Assumes responsibility of providing feedback to the Director of Nursing regarding orientee’s progress and/or needs
Requirements
Education:
- Current, valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required — must be maintained in good standing throughout employment.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) considered with significant relevant experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience required; experience in addiction treatment, detoxification, behavioral health, or inpatient psychiatric settings strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Experience working within an OASAS-certified or Joint Commission-accredited program preferred.
