This document outlines the duties, responsibilities, and requirements for the Maintenance Staff position at the ICGH inpatient facility. Both the employee and supervisor must review and acknowledge this job description to ensure a clear understanding of expectations.

Maintenance Staff

Reports To:

Facilities Manager or Assigned Supervisor

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Staff is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and safe operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the ICGH inpatient facility. This includes routine maintenance and emergency repairs for boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, and other essential infrastructure. The role ensures that the facility remains functional, safe, and compliant with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. System      Maintenance and Repair 
  • Perform      routine inspections and maintenance of boilers, chillers, HVAC systems,      and plumbing fixtures to ensure optimal operation.
  • Diagnose      and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly to      minimize downtime.
  • Replace      or repair parts as needed, following manufacturer and safety guidelines.
  1. Preventive      Maintenance 
  • Develop      and adhere to a preventive maintenance schedule for all facility systems      and equipment.
  • Document      maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and part      replacements.
  1. Emergency      Response 
  • Respond      to maintenance emergencies, including equipment malfunctions, leaks, or      power failures.
  • Collaborate      with external contractors when specialized repairs are required.
  1. Facility      Operations Support 
  • Assist      with general building maintenance, including lighting, painting, and minor      carpentry tasks.
  • Ensure      safe and efficient operation of facility equipment, including generators      and fire suppression systems.
  1. Compliance      and Safety 
  • Adhere      to all facility policies, safety regulations, and applicable local, state,      and federal codes.
  • Conduct      regular safety checks on equipment and building systems.
  • Maintain      clear and organized work areas, including tool and equipment storage.
  1. Collaboration 
  • Work      closely with other departments to address maintenance needs and support      facility operations.
  • Provide      updates to the Facilities Manager regarding system status, repairs, and      necessary upgrades.
Requirements

  

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Mandatory      Requirements 
  • Criminal      background check clearance.
  • Compliance      with pre-employment and ongoing drug testing policies.
  1. Experience      and Skills 
  • Prior      experience in maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems      preferred.
  • Knowledge      of boiler and chiller operations is required.
  • Ability      to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong      problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  1. Physical      Requirements 
  • Ability      to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
