What we offer:
The Senior Director of Individual and Organizational Giving leads and implements cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategy for individual, corporate and workplace gifts from community, major and leadership-level donors as well as all varieties of corporate organizations in the Central Texas region including Travis and Williamson counties, guiding donors in our community to philanthropic investment opportunities at United Way. In this role you will develop engagement opportunities and event programming to effectively facilitate donor prospecting, cultivation, and stewardship efforts. In partnership with the Vice President of Individual and Corporate Giving, this position will be a leader in driving ambitious revenue goals to engage and empower members of the board, resource development committee, volunteer leaders and top funders in resource development efforts.
What you’ll do:
- Provide leadership for and manage the individual and corporate giving team, directly supervising 4 full-time staff.
- Direct individual and corporate philanthropy and community engagement efforts and organize high ROI portfolios assigned to direct reports.
- Direct robust program for year-round community engagement including major fundraising events, community volunteer events, and donor network events driving deeper connection and increased philanthropic investment.
- Ensure excellent and dynamic donor stewardship for a portfolio of donors ($1,000 and up for individual and $20,000 for corporations) including recognition and acknowledgment in partnership with the giving team.
- Develop tools for donor engagement and stewardship including messaging and collateral in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team.
- Strategic development and execution of annual community giving and event campaigns in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team.
- Work collaboratively with VP and interdepartmental leadership to grow revenue and increase individual donor base across workplace, community and events campaigns. Establish revenue goals annually, measure progress and assess when strategies or tactics are productive, need to be adjusted or reimagined to achieve both short and long-term success.
- In partnership with VP and interdepartmental leadership, track revenue projections, provide data relative to community giving and events, and manage a portion of the departmental expense budget.
- Provide data, guidance and tools to board members, resource development committee members, donor network committee members, and event chairs to help them become more involved and have a greater impact as volunteer leaders.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong storytelling, editorial, and presentation skills

- Ensure meaningful and timely donor relationship tracking in CRM for all mid-major individual donors
- A highly motivated, self-starting, and results driven approach
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong team building skills; ability to work well with staff in all departments; comfortable working with diverse groups.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent of education and experience
- 6+ years of experience in nonprofit work, fundraising and development
- 2+ years of experience in Major Gift fundraising (preferred)
