InflexionPoint is currently looking for a Director – Data Center Delivery. The Director – Data Center Delivery is responsible for building and leading InflexionPoint's Data Center delivery organization while ensuring the successful execution of complex mission-critical automation and controls projects.


This leader will own the delivery portfolio for the Data Center business, including project execution, financial performance, customer satisfaction, project management excellence, resource planning, and operational scalability.


Working closely with the Technical Manager – Data Centers, Sales, and Executive Leadership, this individual will help establish InflexionPoint as a trusted delivery partner for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center customers.


While responsible for helping grow the business, the primary mission of this role is to build a world-class delivery organization capable of consistently executing large, complex programs safely, predictably, and profitably.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Delivery Leadership

  • Lead the successful execution of the Data Center project portfolio. 
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to customer expectations. 
  • Establish delivery governance, reporting cadence, and executive reviews. 
  • Drive consistency across project execution, forecasting, risk management, and customer communications. 
  • Lead recovery plans for projects requiring executive intervention.  

Program and Portfolio Management

  • Manage a portfolio of complex mission-critical projects. 
  • Balance priorities across multiple customers, sites, and project teams. 
  • Develop portfolio-level reporting, forecasting, and performance metrics. 
  • Ensure effective resource allocation across concurrent programs. 
  • Partner with PMO leadership to continuously improve project delivery practices. 

Project Management Leadership

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop Project Managers and Program Managers. 
  • Establish best practices for project planning, scheduling, forecasting, earned value management, change management, and project controls. 
  • Develop repeatable delivery methodologies and lessons-learned processes. 
  • Foster accountability and continuous improvement across the delivery organization. 

Financial Performance

Own the financial performance of the Data Center delivery portfolio, including:

  • Revenue delivery 
  • Gross margin 
  • Forecast accuracy 
  • Project profitability 
  • Change order management 
  • Resource utilization 
  • Risk identification and mitigation 
  • Partner with Executive Leadership on annual planning, forecasting, and operational reviews.

Customer Leadership

Serve as the executive delivery leader for strategic customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Executive project reviews 
  • Customer escalations 
  • Schedule recovery discussions 
  • Risk communication 
  • Change negotiations 
  • Building long-term customer confidence 
  • Partner with Sales during pursuits by demonstrating InflexionPoint's delivery capabilities and execution methodology.

Team Development

Build and lead a scalable delivery organization including:

  • Project Managers 
  • Program Managers 
  • Delivery Coordinators 
  • Construction Managers (future) 
  • Commissioning Managers (future) 
  • Create career paths, mentoring programs, and leadership development opportunities.

Practice Growth

Support the continued growth of the Data Center business by:

  • Helping shape delivery strategy 
  • Participating in major pursuits 
  • Identifying opportunities for operational improvement 
  • Developing delivery standards that differentiate InflexionPoint in the market 
  • Partnering with the Technical Manager to establish repeatable execution models 
Requirements

Education, Certifications and Experience  

  • 15+ years leading large industrial, mission-critical, or infrastructure projects. 
  • Hyperscale or colocation data center experience. 
  • Industrial automation or controls systems experience.
  • Proven experience managing complex project portfolios exceeding $25M. 
  • Demonstrated success leading Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Strong program management and portfolio management experience. 
  • Experience managing customer relationships at the executive level. 
  • Experience coordinating with EPC firms, construction managers, and commissioning teams. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • PLC/SCADA project delivery experience. 
  • Commissioning and startup experience. 
  • Familiarity with Ignition or similar SCADA platforms. 
  • Exposure to DDC/BAS systems.  

Working Environment?

Duties are performed in an office environment and at customer project sites, including data center, mission-critical, and active construction environments. This role requires regular coordination with clients, project managers, engineers, contractors, vendors, commissioning agents, and field teams. Travel is a significant part of the role and may be required up to 50%, including longer durations on site during peak project phases such as coordination, startup, commissioning, and turnover. Site work may require access to data halls, mechanical/electrical rooms, equipment yards, control rooms, and active construction areas where personal protective equipment may be required.

 

Physical Demands?

Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged hours consistent with the average workday; to operate a computer and other office equipment, including but not limited to computer, printer, etc. Must be able to perform frequent site walk throughs, climb stairs and/or ladders, occasionally access/inspect interior of equipment; must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl; must be able to move, transport, position, place, install, remove and/or replace various types of equipment; must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. unassisted.??

Salary Description
$190,000 - $225,000 per year
