Job Location & Travel Requirements

Candidates may reside outside of San Antonio, Texas but must be able to travel a Miner / OnPoint Group office. Regular onsite presence is expected in accordance with business requirements. This position also requires the ability to travel to San Antonio and other company locations on an as-needed basis.

Job Summary

As the OnPoint Group Finance team is evolving, it is seeking to fill a critical role in the organization that will support its largest Business Unit, Miner. This position will report to the CFO and be in Atlanta, GA (or near one of our other branches or corporate offices). This role will work daily with the Miner BU President and his leadership team. This role will also have regular connections with the OPG Senior Leadership team, the Board of Directors, and the Senior Finance leadership team including the OPG Corporate Controller, VP of Finance for TrueSource, OPG Corporate Finance lead, and EVP of Transformation. This position will focus on providing analysis and insights to maximize the performance of Miner.

Core Job Duties


Leadership 

  • Leads projects and initiatives and partners with others across OPG Sales/Ops/Corporate to drive problems to resolution
  • Leads team of ~30 people and contributes to overall Finance team employee engagement initiatives
  • Collaborates with OPG Finance leadership to provide data and analysis for overall OPG reporting.  Collaborates with OPG Controller on the month-end Close.
  • Manages stakeholder requests across Miner & OPG Senior Leadership and Board members
  • Remains current on economic and business conditions, industry and market trends 

Core Financial Duties

  • Prepares the annual Plan and forecasts and identifies risks and opportunities.  
  • Delivers standard reporting related to month-end close results, quarterly Board slides, monthly Net Working Capital information, weekly Gross Margin initiatives and others.
  • Completes the Miner monthly close and manages Balance Sheet accounts.  Analyzes Miner monthly financial results, comparing current and year-to-date performance with prior year, forecast and plan; evaluates performance of branches and products/services
  • Evaluates key levers of performance and profitability with the Finance team including, but not limited to, incentives, sales productivity and contract/customer/product profitability, and product/service/branch mix
  • Responsible for large customer profitability and tracking of Gross Margin initiative impacts
  • Publishes detailed reporting including, but not limited to, dashboards, headcount reporting, expense/T&E reporting, Region/branch results and centralized OPG KPI reporting
  • Produces cash bi-weekly cash flow forecasts and Net Working Capital metrics
  • Drives business case and ROI development for investments when needed 
  • Develops and prepares ad hoc reporting where needed.

Other

  • Responsible for Miner incentive (commissions and bonus) calculations and analysis.  Sets Sales targets with leadership.
  • Responsible for Miner/OPG Power BI reporting
  • Out of scope: Miner AR, Collections, and AP

Initiatives & Process Improvement

  • Produces repeatable channel/segment level P&L’s and metrics to drive additional accountability.
  • Assists with streamlining and improving all reporting with an emphasis on more timely and more accurate projections and reporting.
  • Plays a key role in system integration and upgrades to include the conversion to a new Financial ERP, SPIFF (incentive) upgrades, Construction Management Software, & Operational ERP implementation (Horizon).
  • Assists with evaluation of acquisition targets, including diligence, financial modeling and integration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related business field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience including a mix of company sizes and ownership structures(PE, private, etc.). Minimum of 15 years highly preferred.
  • Experience leading and coaching teams from analyst and up levels. Minimum of 10 years preferred.
  • Experience in Industrial Services and/or Logistics is a bonus.  Experience in FP&A, Accounting, Net Working Capital, M&A, and system integration required. Experience in pricing and profitability analysis preferred.  Experience with evaluating incentives & salesperson ROI preferred.  Program Management and Process Improvement experience a plus.  
  • Advanced knowledge of and the ability to apply best practices and standards in finance and accounting.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization. Strong capability to synthesize data into concise and actionable plans.
  • Naturally curious and driven to understand all aspects of the business to identify areas of opportunity.
  • A hands-on leader that can skillfully navigate from big picture strategy to detailed execution.
  • Must be collaborative, an innovative thinker/problem solver, and a decisive individual with a bias for action .

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Power Point as well as Oracle, Microsoft SL (or similar) ERP. Strong presentation building and storytelling skills required.
