This individual will assist in the organizing, coordinating, and monitoring of all aspects of the medication services department within Hematology Oncology Associates of CNY. This individual oversees the dispensing of commercially available antineoplastic drugs; assesses medication orders for clinical accuracy; assists with patient care activities including monitoring patient response to drug therapy, monitoring patient compliance to treatment, recommending changes or alternative therapy if needed, assisting with education on side effect management. They will also provide drug related clinical information to providers, and care teams and provide assistance to patients needing financial assistance for their treatment.

Requirements

  

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:


Organizational skills

Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical retail pharmacy operations

Ability and willingness to work with potential exposure to toxic drugs and infectious patients

Ability to operate a computer

Ability to maintain records and files

Ability to work with precision and accuracy

Ability to maintain confidentiality


Education: Pharm.D. or Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an accredited college

Experience: Three years of related experience preferred.

Certificate/License: NYS pharmacist license required

Salary Description
$56.00 +
