We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to provide overall accounting support and expertise in preparing month-end reconciliations, performing routine accounting activities for an omni-channel CPG company, reviewing financial statements against budgets, and other ad hoc projects. 


What you’ll do

As the Senior Accountant, you’ll ensure that reconciliations and accounting activities are completed within the proper timeline and in accordance with company and GAAP practices. You’ll be a partner to the other Finance team members in FP&A, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable. You’ll become well-versed in our software suite and identify and implement opportunities for improvement and/or automation of accounting processes.


How you’ll do it

  • Prepare journal entries, financial statement support schedules and management reports
  • GL reporting and expense analysis
  • Complete daily DTC cash applications and bank reconciliations
  • Analyze transactions, events, and circumstances that caused changes in the Companies’ assets, liabilities and equity for proper recognition in the financial statements
  • Assist with oversight, implementation and documentation of internal control procedures
  • Create and maintain process SOPs
  • Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and reduce manual effort
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures and financial statement reporting in accordance with US GAAP
  • Actively participate in annual financial statement audits, reviews and tax preparation by preparing audit schedules and reconciliations
  • Validate filings and reports for monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns
  • Oversee 1099 process and filings
  • Support and liaise with team members in AP, AR and FP&A
  • Other ad hoc and/or finance related assignments
Requirements

 What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in general accounting, auditing and/or corporate finance experience. Public accounting experience is a plus but not required.
  • CPA or CPA Candidate preferred
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and application of accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze large datasets using advanced formulas, lookup functions, pivot tables, and data visualization techniques to support informed business decisions
  • Ability to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Analytical and strong problem-solving skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, have a proactive approach and the ability to work with a team
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and effectively manage and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
