General Job Summary


The Construction Loan Coordinator (CLC) is responsible for overseeing Construction Permanent Loan Builder and project approval procedures. Comply with training, procedures and workflows focused on timely and accurate results. Collaborate with all business owners, sales, operations managers and staff to ensure company policies and department procedures are followed and that the work performed complies with all state and federal regulations. Act as a liaison with loan sales, operations, builder and vendor management and personnel to ensure that mutually agreed upon service levels are maintained.


Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Manage construction to permanent loans Builder and project approval processes. 
  • Develop, document, and maintain construction to permanent administrative processes including the review of builder documents and comply with criteria set by the board.
  • Develop, document and maintain construction to permanent administrative processes including the review of documents, contracts, budget, plans, specs, title including CCR’s for project approval.  
  • Submit documentation for Collateral Assessment Review. Work with processor to resolve any condition.
  • Submit documentation for builder acceptance. 
  • Review builder reports for acceptance.
  • Maintain builder accepted list.
  • Setup construction to perm loan within construction department after closing. 
  • Maintain department service quality standards. 
  • Develop and manage relationships with key external customers, vendors including technology providers, construction material suppliers, attorneys, inspectors, title companies, and builders.
  • Follow guidelines, policies, and procedures. 
  • Maintain department service quality standards. 
  • Track builder documents for updates: liability insurance, and builder license for expiration dates.
  • Manage exceptions to builder/project approval and work in progress with manager and Chief Underwriter. 
  • Post construction interest payments when received. 
  • Identify and implement methods of improving functional and departmental efficiencies that reduce risks, improve quality of service and/or accommodate additional growth.

Requirements

Education, Training and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technology field or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience preferred.
  • 3 + years working mortgage lending, including construction lending/construction loan administration, processing, or underwriting required.
  • Experience with onboarding and managing servicing of construction loan projects and 3rd party relationships highly preferred.

  • Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
  • Provide professional communication in both oral & written expression.
  • Excellent organizational, time management & analytical skills.
  • Able to communicate and negotiate effectively.
  • Demonstrated expertise in process evaluation, development, and monitoring.
  • Understanding of credit policy tailored to construction permanent and renovation loan programs.
  • Strong knowledge of construction project management and state lien laws preferred.
  • Understand FHA underwriting guidelines.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • High level ability to coach, train, motivate, and mentor associates.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Able to effectively problem solve.

Working Environment


Primary working environment is within an indoor climate-controlled office space and/or a private home office or some combination which will be at managements sole discretion. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor allergens. Employee may work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments.


Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk).
  • Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard).

The salary range for this role takes into consideration a wide range of factors including but not limited to the duties of the role, experience, location, and certificates and/or education. The target salary range for this position is between $21.00 and $25.00 per hour.
