Description

Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Urology team. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing exceptional patient care, enjoys working in a fast-paced specialty practice, and thrives in a collaborative environment. The Certified Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver high-quality urologic care while ensuring an outstanding patient experience. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Welcome and prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, allergies, and chief complaints.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during urology examinations and in-office procedures.
  • Prepare patients for procedures including cystoscopies, catheter insertions and removals, bladder instillations, uroflow testing, post-void residual (PVR) bladder scans, and other specialty procedures.
  • Assist with specimen collection, including urine samples and laboratory testing.
  • Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens as needed.
  • Administer medications and injections within scope of practice and provider direction.
  • Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, post-procedure instructions, and follow-up care.
  • Accurately document patient encounters, procedures, and provider instructions within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Process prescription refills, referrals, prior authorizations, and patient messages.
  • Coordinate follow-up appointments, diagnostic testing, and specialty procedures.
  • Maintain exam rooms by cleaning, disinfecting, and stocking supplies and equipment.
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and company policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with providers and staff to maintain efficient patient flow and excellent customer service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Requirements

 

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent nationally recognized certification.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism.

Preferred

  • Previous Urology experience.
  • Experience assisting with specialty procedures.
  • Knowledge of catheter care, urologic conditions, and patient education.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Athena, eClinicalWorks, or other EMR systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and assisting patients during examinations and procedures.
  • Manual dexterity to operate medical equipment and assist with clinical procedures.
