Aircraft Component Technician – Technician II
Description

Northeast Aero is seeking skilled and motivated technicians with a hunger for knowledge and a passion for aviation repair to join our team. We currently have open positions in Pneumatic, Rotating, Fuel, Electro/Mechanical, and Hydraulics departments.


Our ideal candidate is a team player with a passion for working with their hands, utilizing various tools, materials, and specialized testing equipment to test and repair aircraft components in accordance with OEM and/or customer specifications.


The technician's responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting, disassembling, and assembling aircraft components. All positions require knowledge of our procedures as they pertain to processes and documentation. On-the-job training and oversight are provided by NEACO management.


Requirements

 Primary Responsibilities

  • Commitment to company values and ethics
  • Test and repair aircraft components in accordance with company-provided data (manuals, drawings, procedures, etc.) and      company-provided training
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area
  • Correctly, concisely, and legibly complete all      company forms and reports as required by management (both written and      online)
  • Work with co-workers to achieve goals and objectives      set by management
  • Assist in basic shop upkeep and maintenance,      including routine cleaning of the technician's work area and periodic shop      maintenance assignments
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal and      external representatives, including management, customer representatives,      FAA inspectors, and airline inspectors (training provided)

Experience and Skills

  • 3-6      years of experience in an MRO environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Expert with hand tools
  • Fully proficient with general electrical soldering      and/or circuit board level soldering
  • Ability to follow instructions and work according to      written procedures concisely and accurately
  • Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English
  • Able to read and thoroughly understand technical      drawings, blueprints, manuals, and instructions (a pre-employment      technical skills and comprehension test may be required)
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized
  • Proficient in inspection, testing, and repair of most      units in the department
  • Experience using a computer
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Valid driver's license
  • Technician candidate must own their own set of      basic hand tools

Education

  • High      school diploma or GED required
  • A&P license/certificate not required (but a plus)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability      to lift 50 lbs.
  • Constant hand manipulation of small to medium      components
  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time
  • Frequent use of hand tools and other repair equipment
  • Use of chemicals for cleaning, lubricating, and      painting

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly      position commensurate with experience level, skill level, and/or      certifications: $31-$40/hour

Additional Information

This position is safety-sensitive and requires participation in the FAA DOT Drug Abatement Program. Pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing required. A pre-employment technical skills and comprehension test may be administered.

Salary Description
$31.00 - $40.00 per hour
