Set-Up Technician

JOB SUMMARY

The Set-Up Technician is responsible for setting up equipment and tooling accurately to produce parts according to print specifications while supporting production schedules, quality standards, and operational efficiency. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Machine Set-Up and Production

  • Review production orders and confirm print specifications are accurate and complete. 
  • Verify required materials are available and meet order requirements. 
  • Set up and prepare hook forming machines for production runs. 
  • Adjust machine settings to achieve required production rates and schedule demands.
  • Operate machines and assist with material handling activities, as required. 
  • Collaborate with the tool room and engineering teams to develop and implement continuous improvements for machine setups and tooling processes.

Quality and Accuracy

  • Ensure produced parts meet print specifications and quality standards. 
  • Perform minor machine adjustments troubleshooting and adjustments as needed during operation.

Tooling and Equipment

  • Inspect tooling for correctness and overall condition prior to setup. 
  • Maintain tooling inventory and organization at assigned machine centers. 

Workplace Organization and Safety

  • Support and sustain 5S standards to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area 
  • Follow all company safety policies and safe work practices.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

 EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience with machine set-up and operation preferred

SKILLS (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, Other)

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to read and interpret part prints and technical drawings 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical experience 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively and provide direction to others

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs., due to inspection of product
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
