JOB SUMMARY
The Set-Up Technician is responsible for setting up equipment and tooling accurately to produce parts according to print specifications while supporting production schedules, quality standards, and operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Machine Set-Up and Production
- Review production orders and confirm print specifications are accurate and complete.
- Verify required materials are available and meet order requirements.
- Set up and prepare hook forming machines for production runs.
- Adjust machine settings to achieve required production rates and schedule demands.
- Operate machines and assist with material handling activities, as required.
- Collaborate with the tool room and engineering teams to develop and implement continuous improvements for machine setups and tooling processes.
Quality and Accuracy
- Ensure produced parts meet print specifications and quality standards.
- Perform minor machine adjustments troubleshooting and adjustments as needed during operation.
Tooling and Equipment
- Inspect tooling for correctness and overall condition prior to setup.
- Maintain tooling inventory and organization at assigned machine centers.
Workplace Organization and Safety
- Support and sustain 5S standards to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area
- Follow all company safety policies and safe work practices.
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience with machine set-up and operation preferred
SKILLS (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, Other)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret part prints and technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical experience
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively and provide direction to others
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs., due to inspection of product
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
