About the Role

As a Master Automotive Technician, you'll be one of the shop's most experienced technical resources. You'll diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues, perform advanced mechanical repairs, mentor fellow technicians, and help maintain the highest standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.


From advanced diagnostics to major engine repair, you'll play a key role in keeping our customers safely on the road while helping develop the next generation of technicians.


What You'll Do

Advanced Diagnostics

  • Diagnose complex drivability,      electrical, transmission, and engine performance concerns.
  • Utilize scan tools,      oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and manufacturer service information.
  • Analyze live data and      accurately identify root causes of mechanical and electrical failures.
  • Diagnose ABS, SRS, charging,      starting, steering, suspension, HVAC, and engine management systems.

Major Mechanical Repairs

  • Perform engine teardown,      repair, and replacement.
  • Repair timing components,      cylinder heads, cooling systems, and internal engine components.
  • Diagnose and repair steering,      suspension, brake, drivetrain, and charging systems.
  • Perform advanced electrical      repairs and complex troubleshooting.

Shop Leadership

  • Mentor and train apprentice and      junior technicians.
  • Assist with workflow      coordination and technical guidance.
  • Promote best practices and      support a collaborative team environment.
  • Help ensure repairs are      completed accurately and efficiently.

Quality & Safety

  • Perform quality control      inspections before vehicles are returned to customers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized,      and safe work environment.
  • Ensure all repairs meet      manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and      continuous improvement.

Customer Support

  • Assist Service Advisors with      technical recommendations and repair explanations.
  • Provide accurate estimates and      repair recommendations based on vehicle inspections.
  • Build customer confidence      through professionalism and quality workmanship.

ASE Certifications

ASE Master Technician Certification is preferred but not required.

Experience in the following ASE areas is highly valued:

  • A1 – Engine Repair
  • A2 – Automatic Transmission
  • A3 – Manual Drivetrain &      Axles
  • A4 – Suspension & Steering
  • A5 – Brakes
  • A6 – Electrical/Electronic      Systems
  • A7 – Heating & Air      Conditioning
  • A8 – Engine Performance
  • A9 – Light Vehicle Diesel

Requirements

  

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED      required.
  • Automotive technical school or      vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of      professional automotive repair experience.
  • Strong diagnostic abilities      across multiple vehicle systems.
  • Experience performing major      engine repairs and advanced diagnostics.
  • Proficiency using modern      diagnostic equipment, scan tools, oscilloscopes, and specialty tools.
  • Valid driver's license with an      acceptable driving record.
  • Strong communication,      leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality,      and customer satisfaction.
