Ticket Office Cashiers help create a welcoming, organized, and guest-focused arrival experience by assisting guests with ticket purchases, general mountain information, and customer service support in a fast-paced environment. This position works directly with guests throughout the day while maintaining accurate transactions, organized workspaces, and efficient front-line operations during changing business conditions.
Successful employees in this role are dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable engaging with a wide variety of guests in a busy and community-oriented environment. Employees are expected to bring a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to assist guests with professionalism, patience, and accuracy while helping create a positive and memorable mountain experience.
General Responsibilities:
- Perform cashiering duties accurately and proficiently while providing friendly and respectful customer service and maintaining the confidentiality, security, and cleanliness of work spaces.
- Develop a working knowledge of Mt. Baker Ski Area mountain policies and procedures, familiarity of ski area facilities and services available
- Perform duties as trained in the Ticket Office and other departments, as needed
- Create and participate in a positive and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
- Willingness to learn
- Must be 18 years or older
- Successful completion of cashier and department training by an authorized Mt. Baker Ski Area trainer
- Have or obtain upon employment a current Food Handlers Card for the state of Washington
Wage & Hour Information:
This is a seasonal, variable hour position. Hours per week may vary between 5-25+ hours/week. Expected end date for position is April 18, 2027, unless otherwise approved by management.
- Starting rate begins at $17.13/hour with increases for experience, merit, tenure and future WA State minimum wage adjustments possible.
Availability Requirements:
- Preferred availability Saturdays and Sundays
- Must be available to work additional hours through the holiday period
- Minimum 2 days per week

General Physical Requirements
Working in the mountain environment is physically demanding. You need to be in good health and in good physical condition and have the ability to perform the following:
- Bending, twisting, lifting and moving items throughout the day
- Ability to lift and move 25 pounds (or more depending on task)
- Standing and or sitting for long periods
- Climbing and descending stairs
- Shoveling and moving snow
- Standing and walking on compact snow and ice
- Perform repetitive tasks as necessary
