Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Assistant Facilities Manager assists in all aspects of operation and maintenance of the Pershing Square Signature Center. Working closely with rentals, production, IT and Front of House, the Assistant Facilities Manager helps ensure facilities policies and procedures are incorporated effectively into all activities throughout the Center.
About Signature
Founded in 1991, Signature Theatre celebrates playwrights and gives them an artistic home, producing three to four productions annually. In 2005 Signature began its groundbreaking Signature Ticket Initiative, providing affordable tickets to all of its productions. In 2012, Signature opened The Pershing Square Signature Center, the Frank Gehry-designed 75,000 square foot Center featuring three theatres, two rehearsal studios, a central, public lobby with a café and bookstore, as well as administrative offices. Responsibilities
- Help to ensure all building systems remain in peak condition through weekly, monthly, and bi-monthly maintenance.
- Manage facilities day-to-day operations, including acting as a liaison between departments during events and rentals, managing crowd control, Safety protocols and anticipating crowd behavior.
- Manage contractor and vendor relationships, including projects and maintenance scheduling for HVAC, BMS, electrical systems, plumbing, security, elevators, waste, cleaning, and fire safety systems.
- Manage vendor relationships for Front of House spaces, including Café Bar and kitchen preventative maintenance needs.
- Monitor and check work of third-party vendors and hourly personnel to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Maintain a Fire Life Safety Director certification from the FDNY and help lead Pershing Square Signature Center’s fire safety efforts
- Respond to off-hours emergencies, reporting onsite when necessary; including natural disasters (e.g. floods, earthquakes, hurricanes) and/or potential neighborhood emergencies, such as bomb threats and riots.
- Provide on-call support outside regular Center hours to address HVAC, fire alarm, and security needs.
- Assist the Director of Operations with management of construction and capital projects as needed.
- Assess HVAC needs for production schedules, administrative offices, and rentals/events.

Educational/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least three years of experience working in a large, multi-use facility
Physical Requirements
Physical requirements include ability to walk, carry, crawl, climb, kneel and lift at least 50 lbs.

Compensation
This is a full-time salaried exempt position, with compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary range for this role is $66,300-68,300 on an annualized basis. Benefits include group health, dental, and vision plans, as well as the opportunity to participate in tax-saving flexible spending, commuter and 401(k) plan
