Manufacturing Engineer
Description

The Manufacturing Engineer provides a high level of expertise to support and improve the manufacture of both existing and new products and associated processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will utilize lean manufacturing principles and apply those principles to improve Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery goals of the organization.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
  • Uses Lean methodologies to improve processes.
  • Involved with both short and long-term planning activities.
  • Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
  • Develops process prints and associated documentation as necessary.
  • Develops time standards and assists in monitoring efficiency of current production.
  • Provides cost estimating and methods for quoting purposes.
  • Maintains routings, processing and other related documents to reflect current production methods.
  • Process and update work orders as required.
  • Maintains and updates all process documentation based on engineering changes or other required process change.
  • Develops tooling and fixture designs as needed to support production.
  • Identifies current and future capital equipment needs/justifications.
  • Provides updates to management and others as needed on project status.
  • Be a mentor for shop-floor personnel in the use of existing and new manufacturing processes.
  • Communicate and interact efficiently and effectively with Managers, Peers and production personnel.
  • Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Supports and adheres to applicable Safety, Quality, and organizational policies/procedures.
  • Strives for continuous improvement to “Deliver on our Promise”.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Engineering related field or 
  • 3-5 years of experience in aerospace machining and/or assembly required, or equivalent combination of both.

Minimum Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of blueprints and GD&T.
  • Proficient in Solidworks
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, excellent phone, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with people at all levels are required


Salary Description
$65,000 - $95,000
