Physical Therapy Assistant (PRN - as needed)
Pay Range: $26.68 - $41.36 / hour

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or applicable state of employment).
- Current CPR certification preferred or required as designated by the organization.
- Previous experience in a rehabilitation, skilled nursing, assisted living, home health, or healthcare setting preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and team members.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
Requirements
- Administer physical therapy treatments and therapeutic exercises as directed by the Physical Therapist.
- Assist patients and residents in improving mobility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, and functional independence.
- Observe, monitor, and document patient responses to treatment and report progress, concerns, or changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Accurately maintain treatment records, progress notes, and other required documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Educate patients, residents, families, and caregivers on prescribed exercises, safety techniques, and use of adaptive equipment.
- Assist with gait training, transfer training, therapeutic activities, aquatic therapy and the use of assistive devices.
- Ensure treatment areas, equipment, and supplies are clean, organized, and maintained in a safe condition.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated patient care and treatment goals.
- Participate in care planning meetings and team discussions as appropriate.
- Adhere to established infection prevention, safety, confidentiality, and HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintain current knowledge of therapy practices through continuing education and professional development.
- Attend required meetings, in-services, and training programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
