Group Fitness Instructors will lead group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that welcomes all skills and fitness levels. Instructors will be responsible for effectively building community within classes and modifying classes as needed to meet varied health, ability and community needs.
Openings For: Barre, Cycle, BODYPUMP, Active older adults
Must have current certification
Part-Time: 1-4 hours a week
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Integrate the mission of the YMCA and follow the core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility into the healthy living aspect of all classes.
- Lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group fitness classes and programming as directed.
- Maintain working knowledge of industry and wellness trends to provide effective information and support to members.
- Greet members and staff with exemplary service, smile, and empathy.
- Build effective and authentic relationships with members to assist them in connecting with each other and the YMCA.
- Promotes programs, classes and services to all members and encourages cross training and fun activity to attain individual health and wellness goals.
- Help maintain a neat, clean, and pleasant environment with the group fitness class area.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOW HOW:
- Must have current certification and able to maintain certification through a nationally recognized organization or equivalent for classes being taught.
- Les Mills Certification is a plus.
- CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of DOH.
- Superb customer service skills.
