Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply wet paint coatings to metal parts using spray guns and related painting equipment.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, masking, and sanding parts to ensure proper paint adhesion and finish quality.
- Mix and prepare paints, thinners, and coatings according to specifications.
- Load, unload, hang, and remove parts from carts, racks, and conveyors.
- Operate paint booths, curing ovens, and associated paint equipment.
- Use forklifts, hoists, and other material-handling equipment to move parts and materials.
- Inspect painted parts for defects such as runs, sags, thin coverage, or contamination.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of paint equipment and booths.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Knowledge of wet paint systems, coatings, and application techniques.
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to paints, solvents, and hazardous materials.
- Experience operating spray equipment, paint booths, and curing ovens.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, paint specifications, and safety data sheets (SDS).
- Ability to identify and correct quality and safety issues.
