In this role, you will be leading our Prior Authorization team and help ensure children receive timely access to medically necessary ABA services. Prior Authorization Manager
As the Prior Authorization Manager, you will lead the daily operations of our Prior Authorization team while driving process improvements that support timely authorizations, operational excellence, and exceptional patient care. This role is responsible for developing high-performing team members, optimizing workflows, ensuring compliance, and partnering cross-functionally to support organizational success.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Prior Authorization Specialists.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, mentorship, and accountability.
- Create and deliver onboarding and training programs for new team members.
- Monitor team productivity, turnaround times, and key performance metrics while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Foster a collaborative, positive, and high-performing team culture.
Operations & Process Improvement
- Design, implement, and optimize workflows to improve authorization efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain department policies, procedures, and process documentation.
- Implement reporting tools and dashboards to enhance operational visibility and performance.
- Conduct regular quality audits to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Stay current on payer policies and communicate updates and best practices to the team.
Prior Authorization & Compliance
- Oversee complex authorization requests and resolve escalated payer issues.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient eligibility, benefits, and authorization activity.
- Lead root cause analyses to identify and resolve recurring operational challenges.
- Maintain compliance with payer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality expectations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Clinical, Intake, Billing, Operations, and Center Leadership teams to support seamless patient care.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for payer-related questions and issues.
- Lead and support cross-functional initiatives that improve the patient and family experience while driving operational success.

- 5+ years of experience obtaining ABA therapy prior authorizations
- 2+ years of leadership or management experience
- Strong knowledge of insurance authorization processes and payer requirements
- Excellent organizational and project management skills

- Proven ability to solve complex problems and improve operational workflows
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
