In this role, you will be leading our Prior Authorization team and help ensure children receive timely access to medically necessary ABA services. Responsibilites
As the Prior Authorization Manager, you'll oversee the daily operations of the Prior Authorization department while driving process improvements that support timely authorizations and exceptional patient care.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the Prior Authorization team, including direct oversight of Prior Authorization Specialists.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, mentorship, and accountability.
- Develop onboarding and training programs for new team members.
- Monitor team productivity and turnaround times while identifying opportunities for improvement.
Process Improvement & Operations
- Design and optimize workflows to improve authorization efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain department policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Implement tools and reporting that improve visibility and operational performance.
- Conduct regular quality audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Stay current on payer policies and communicate updates to the team.
Prior Authorization & Compliance
- Oversee complex authorization requests and escalated payer issues.
- Ensure accurate documentation of eligibility, benefits, and authorization activity.
- Lead root-cause analysis to resolve recurring operational challenges.
- Maintain quality standards and regulatory compliance across all authorization processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Clinical, Intake, Billing, Operations, and Center Leadership teams.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for payer-related concerns.
- Support cross-functional initiatives and special projects that improve the patient experience and operational success.

- 5+ years of experience obtaining ABA therapy prior authorizations.
- 2+ years of leadership or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of insurance authorization processes and payer requirements.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and improve operational workflows.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Experience with prior authorization management platforms is preferred.
