Who You Are

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Pharmacology Operations Research Associate II to contribute to drug discovery activities for the development of novel small molecule cancer therapeutics as part of our cancer biology discovery team. The successful candidate will collaborate with team members to conduct a variety of in vivo oncology models. This position also requires some lab management and operational tasks. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced and growing environment to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Execute in vivo pharmacology studies including preparation (e.g. ear tagging, shaving), tumor measurements, compound dosing (e.g., po, sc, ip, iv), blood collection and processing, and tissue harvests
  • Adhere to institutional SOPs and IACUC protocols to ensure compliant and ethical animal care and handling
  • Upload and manage experimental data in vivarium management systems and ELN in a timely and organized manner
  • Write study protocols and graph data using Prism
  • Prepare formulation buffers and compound dosing solutions for small molecules
  • Maintain lab inventory, equipment, and supplies at multiple sites and oversee procurement of supplies
  • Oversee health monitoring of holding rooms, which includes sampling of rodent cages and work surfaces and sending out to third party for testing
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment, and promote operational improvement initiatives


Requirements

Education and Qualifications

  • BS in a biology-related discipline with at least 4 years hands-on experience in a vivarium performing oncology pharmacology studies 
  • Industry experience highly preferred
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and committed individual with good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, start-up work environment
  • AALAS certification (ALAT, LAT, or LATG) is preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Work Location 

This position is based in South San Francisco, CA and operates on a Tuesday - Saturday schedule, with additional rotating coverage for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay Description

This is a contractor position for 40 hours per week with a salary range of $42 - $46 per hour in the San Francisco Bay Area.
