Who We Are:
The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

About the Role:
As a Driver at the Atlanta Community Food Bank, you'll play a vital role in ensuring food and other essential items are delivered safely, accurately, and on time to our partners, programs, donors, and community agencies. You'll operate Food Bank vehicles, follow assigned routes, and provide outstanding customer service while representing the Food Bank throughout the community.

What You’ll Do:
Transportation Services:
- Safely load, transport, and deliver food and other materials to partners, agencies, programs, donors, and events.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Verify deliveries for accuracy before departure and upon arrival.
- Load and unload products using appropriate equipment and safe material-handling practices.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules while adapting to changing priorities when needed.
- Operate trucks, lift gates, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other equipment safely and in accordance with Food Bank policies.
- Comply with all applicable DOT regulations, traffic laws, and Food Bank safety standards.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and required records.
Customer Service:
- Serve as a professional representative of the Atlanta Community Food Bank during all deliveries and pickups.
- Build positive relationships with partner agencies, donors, volunteers, and internal teams.
- Communicate clearly and professionally regarding deliveries, delays, or issues.
- Resolve routine delivery concerns while providing exceptional customer service.

What You’ll Need: Skills and Experience your resume should demonstrate:
- Valid Georgia Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
- Experience operating a Class B commercial vehicle.
- Safe driving record.
- Ability to provide a current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) meeting Food Bank and insurance requirements.
- Successful completion of a DOT Clearinghouse query with no disqualifying records.
- Ability to meet and maintain all Driver Qualification (DQ) File requirements as required by the Department of Transportation and the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

- Employee is routinely required to lift and transport heavy items at waste level, up to 75 lbs
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, climbing and walking are required
- Required to drive a forklift and operate warehouse equipment
- This position would normally have routine opportunities to alter physical position or change eye focus.
- Frequently operates in temperature conditions consistent with outside weather.
- Frequently transition between ambient and refrigerator /freezer temperatures.
- This position requires local travel on a daily basis including routine stops which require driver to load and unload truck contents.
