We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team. This versatile nursing role provides care throughout the perioperative continuum, including Pre-Operative Assessment, Intraoperative Circulating, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) recovery.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who enjoys a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and safety.
Position Summary
The RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures while ensuring compliance with ASC policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
Pre-Operative Nursing
- Conduct patient assessments and obtain health histories.
- Review physician orders, laboratory results, and surgical consents.
- Verify patient identification and procedural readiness.
- Provide patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and recovery expectations.
- Initiate IV access and administer medications as ordered.
Circulating Nurse
- Serve as the patient advocate throughout the surgical procedure.
- Perform surgical safety checks and time-outs.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff.
- Maintain accurate intraoperative documentation.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and sterile field standards.
- Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to clinical changes.
PACU Nursing
- Monitor patients during immediate post-anesthesia recovery.
- Assess airway, circulation, pain management, and postoperative complications.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Complete discharge readiness assessments and patient education.
- Document recovery progress and discharge instructions.
- Current, unrestricted RN license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
