Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides skilled nursing care that promotes resident health, safety, dignity, and quality of life. Working collaboratively with physicians, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team, the RN performs clinical assessments, administers medications and treatments, develops individualized care plans, and provides leadership to ensure exceptional resident outcomes and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor changes in residents' health conditions.
- Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions in accordance with physician orders and evidence-based practice.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized resident care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to ensure high-quality resident care.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, families, and healthcare professionals regarding resident care and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to changes in resident condition and medical emergencies.
- Promote infection prevention, resident safety, and compliance with CMS, state, and facility regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, care conferences, and ongoing professional development.

Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Kentucky.
- Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Commitment to compassionate, resident-centered care.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing and walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and assisting residents with mobility and daily care needs.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or post-acute care.
- Experience supervising or mentoring nursing staff.
- Knowledge of CMS regulations, infection prevention, quality improvement, and person-centered care practices.
- Experience using electronic medical records (EMR).
- Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
