Parking Attendants help create a safe, organized, and welcoming arrival experience for guests by supporting traffic flow, vehicle organization, and parking operations throughout the ski area. This position works outdoors in a fast paced, constantly evolving mountain environment, subject to change hour to hour." something along those lines 

Successful employees are dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in changing weather and operational conditions. Employees in this role are expected to maintain familiarity with ski area operations, facilities, and department procedures while supporting a positive workplace culture and assisting with additional operational duties as needed across the mountain.


General Responsibilities:

  • Help establish traffic flow and organization of vehicles into parked rows and provide assistance to customers as trained while providing friendly and respectful customer service
  • Create and participate in a positive and inclusive workplace
  • Have a working knowledge of Mt. Baker Ski Area mountain policies and procedures, as well as familiarity of ski area facilities and services available 
  • Follow department and company safety practices while promoting a positive safety culture.  
  • Perform duties as trained for position and additional duties (could include but not be limited to: assisting lift attendants and security)
  • Safely operate MBSA equipment and follow all other safety protocols while in the work area

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to learn
  • 18 years or older
  • Ability to complete, and successful completion of parking lot training by an authorized Mt. Baker Ski Area trainer

Starting Pay Rate:

  • Starting rate begins at $17.13/hour with increases for experience, merit, tenure and future WA State minimum wage adjustments possible.
  • This is a seasonal, variable hour position. Hours per week may vary between 5-40+ hours/week. Expected end date for position is April 18, 2027, unless otherwise approved by management.

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outside in inclement winter weather
  • Bending, twisting, lifting and moving items throughout the day
  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds (or more depending on task)
  • Standing and or sitting for long periods
  • Climbing and descending stairs
  • Shoveling and moving snow
  • Standing and walking on compact snow and ice
  • Perform repetitive tasks as necessary

Additional Requirements:

  • Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements identified in the Mt. Baker Ski Area Accident Prevention Plan.
  • Employees are responsible for providing and maintaining required safety-toed footwear and a headlamp in accordance with the Accident Prevention Plan. Other required personal protective equipment and safety equipment will be provided by Mt. Baker Ski Area and must be properly used, maintained, and worn as required.
