Job Summary:

As one of our Handles & Medallion Appliers, you will be Responsible for applying handles and medallions to our handmade pottery mugs. Must have the ability to work both alone and/or with a team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

APPLY HANDLES: Have the necessary supplies at your workstation for that day's work. Retrieve correct handles from extruding area. Following standard work, apply handles to the mugs within quality specifications and tools available. Consistently follow special instructions for work orders. Ensure Handle applying goals are met.

APPLY MEDALLIONS: Retrieve mugs and medallions efficiently from the damp boxes and shelves. Following standard work, apply medallions to the mugs within quality specifications and tools available. Stamp the bottom of the mug with the company information and clean mugs when necessary. Consistently follow special instructions for work orders. Ensure daily Medallion application goal is met.

QUALITY CHECK HANDLES & MEDALLIONS- Review work order for correct mug style and special instructions. Confirm mug meets quality specs. before placing handle and medallion on. Review work order and follow instruction to how handles and medallions are to be applied. Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Accurately enter completed work orders into File Maker. 

WORKSTATION MAINTENANCE - Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. 

Participate in all Safety and Health Training Programs as required.

• Exposure - Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
• Problem Sensitivity -- The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
• Physical - Regularly required to stand and sit, use hands, and reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull.  May lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Corrected vision is required to be able to perform the job functions.

This is an entry-level position, prior experience is a plus. Must have hand and eye coordination. Accuracy and attention to detail is required. Must be able to enter daily production information into the computer. A high school diploma or GED is a plus.

This position has an hourly rate at $17.00 per hour.
