Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. COTALAND is an amusement park with over 30 attractions and experiences, including first-of-their-kind roller coasters. 


We are seeking a skilled and licensed Journeyman Plumber to assist with installations and service projects across property. You will be responsible for executing complex layout plans, assembling piping systems, and troubleshooting commercial infrastructure. The ideal candidate works well independently, prioritizes safety, and can mentor entry-level apprentices.


Essential Functions:

  • Identify potential problems to prevent premature and/or unexpected breakdowns/failures.
  • Maintain and repair plumbing systems carrying water, steam, chemicals, and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating and other process piping systems.
  • Inspect high-pressure, air, steam, water, and gas systems to ascertain malfunctions.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications to determine layout requirements.
  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, ream, and install pipe and pipe fittings.
  • Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures.
  • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances, or fixtures using hand or power tools.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and installations.
  • Submit all complete paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain properly clean and stocked service vehicle.
  • Participates in periodic inventory and truck inspections.
  • Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses all tools in a safety-conscious manner
Requirements
  • Must possess a Texas Journeyman Plumbers License 
  • 5+ years’ experience. 
  • Must be able to pass regulatory requirements for operation of heavy equipment.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of National Plumbing Code, as well as local codes and ordinances
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Basic change-order cost-estimating experience
  • Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record


Physical Demands:

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Must be able to work extended hours, nights, and weekends.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.


Work Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil fumes and noise
  • Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
