The Position:

The Director of Clinical Services, Pharmacy, will support the overall company-wide management of Pharmacy and Clinical Service. The Director of Clinical Services will direct high-quality pharmacy and clinical services in accordance with established policies, procedures and laws regulating pharmacy practice. Responsibilities Include:

  • Supports company-wide pharmacy and clinical operation functions to ensure safe and cost-effective operations.
  • Sets high standards of performance for area personnel and ensures adherence to all company philosophies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Leads oversight of Clinical Services support to ensure clinical, ethical, and operational support to clinicians is available during and after business hours, especially where patient care guidance is required.
  • Ensures that all pharmacy and clinical operations, practices, and procedures meet all licensing and standard requirements established by state, federal, and regulatory agencies.
  • Oversees coordination and development of REMS program management tools to comply with FDA medication requirements and company process.   
  • Ensures coordination related to Clinical Services support across company departments which may include reimbursement, sales and marketing, operations, procurement, human resources and compliance teams.
  • Develops and monitors Location Performance Improvement Programs, including location audits, in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a drug information resource to the company.
  • Contributes to professional body of knowledge and advancing the company within the industry through preparing papers, reports, posters, presenting, for Company management and professional publications and conferences.
  • Directs Clinical Services development of resources for new drugs, indications, and formulation to support implementation and team member clinical competency with. 
  • Maintains clinical skills and knowledge of pharmacotherapy, intravenous therapy, sterile compounding through ongoing education, reviewing literature, and participation in relevant in-services, seminars, and conferences. 
  • Conduct branch audits and record audits regularly to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Communicates effectively and follows established channels of authority and communications throughout the organization.
  • Adheres to all Company Policies, Procedures, and Standards of Conduct covered during initial orientation and referenced in branch handbooks, guides, and manuals.
  • Reports to the appropriate manager(s) any known or suspected of violations of policies and procedures, regulations, or standards of conduct.


Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm) minimally required
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) is preferred 
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in any state.
  • Minimum 4 years’ pharmacy operations and clinical pharmacy home and specialty infusion therapy experience
  • Experience in and strong knowledge of clinical aspects of home infusion and specialty therapies
  • Experience in accreditation and regulatory aspects of home and specialty infusion
  • Management skills and experience in supervising the pharmacy aspects of home and specialty infusion therapy
  • Experience supporting new drug (indication/formulation) acti
  • Efficiency in the Company’s pharmacy dispensing system (e.g. CPR Plus) is desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary in interactions with patients, clients, management, and staff
  • Excellent planning, problem solving, organizational, time management and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively with others and as part of a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to conduct branch audits and support accreditation activities across multiple locations.
