Description

     

Responsibilities:


  • Adheres to all   provisions of the current Rhode Island Department of Health Food Code.
  • Monitors and enforces rules of safety and sanitation in the kitchen in accordance with the current   Rhode Island Department of Health Food Code.
  • Maintains cleanliness in foodservice area that meets all state and federal food safety and sanitation laws in accordance with the Rhode Island Department of Health Food Code.
  • Provides leadership, training, supervision and on-going evaluation to all cook aides, subs, and volunteers working in the kitchen.
  •  Ensures adequate and prompt preparation, service and clean up of breakfast, lunch, supper and snack for children, staff, and volunteers working in the classrooms at assigned center(s).
  • Prepare and provide nutritious meals and snacks for all children enrolled, following the meal pattern for each individual age group, and in compliance with all standards of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
  • Provides individual meals for children with special dietary needs. Maintains such information on “allergy   list” in the kitchen.
  • Submits orders for all food, infant formula, paper and cleaning supplies accurately and in a timely manner for the assigned center(s).
  • Maintains all necessary records (e.g. running monthly inventories, daily meal counts of children and adults served, volunteer sheets, menu changes / substitutions, and weekly recording of dishwasher and refrigeration / freezer temperatures).
  • Participates in agency trainings, in-services, state and federal training pertaining to CACFP and   workshops as determined appropriate and / or necessary by management.
  • Works closely with the Child Development staff to provide integration of nutrition concepts into the daily Child Development curriculum through various Nutrition activities.

Job Type: Part Time - 25-29 hours(School Year - 44 weeks per year)

                 Schedule: 8a - 1p


Work Location: The ability to work at any Child Inc. centers in Warwick & Coventry, RI

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

RI Department of Health Certification as a Manager in Food Safety and Sanitation.

Experience with preparing quantity/batch cooking, preferably for young children from 6 weeks to 5 years old.

The ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
Pass a thorough background investigation and will be asked to provide health/immunization records
The ability to complete mandatory training 

Salary Description
$23.21 per hour
