About the Role

We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated individuals to join our team as Personal Support Specialists. In this role, you will provide essential non-medical care to seniors and individuals with disabilities in the comfort of their own homes. Your support helps our clients maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Personal Care: Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene. 
  • Mobility Support: Provide help with walking, transfers (bed to chair), and fall prevention. 
  • Household Support: Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and keeping the living area tidy. 
  • Nutrition: Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and healthy meal preparation according to client dietary needs. 
  • Companionship: Offer emotional support, conversation, and engagement in social activities or hobbies. 
  • Transportation: Escort clients to doctor’s appointments and help with essential errands. 
  • Reporting: Observe and document any changes in the client's physical or mental health and communicate updates to the supervisor. 
Requirements
  • Certification: Valid Maine PSS Certification (or willingness to complete training).
  • Background: Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Transportation: Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of active auto insurance. 
  • Character: A patient, sympathetic attitude toward the elderly and a commitment to providing high-quality care. 
  • Physical: Ability to perform the physical tasks required of the role (lifting, bending, and standing).
