Summary


This position is based out of Korea and not remote nor hybrid.


NASAM is a leading distributor of High-Reliability EEE (Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical) components and systems for the international space and defense markets. 


The Field Sales Manager will be responsible to drive NASAM Korea's expansion into the Korean defense and military-aerospace markets by establishing strategic relationships with major prime contractors, subcontractors, and government organizations while growing market share for NASAM's high-reliability electronic component portfolio. The position will work closely with, and under the supervision of, the Director, Business Development and the Technical Sales Manager. The position will also have account responsibilities for customers with both defense and space segments.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Under minimal supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:


  • Maintain, identify, and develop strong relationships with customers in the South Korean defense, military-aerospace, and space markets to sell NASAM's portfolio of high-reliability electronic components and systems.
  • Develop and implement competitive account penetration strategies to expand NASAM’s market share within strategic Korean defense and aerospace customers.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with procurement, engineering, program management, and executive stakeholders at major Korean defense contractors, aerospace companies, government organizations, and subcontractors.
  • Develop a comprehensive technical understanding of our product portfolio and supplier relationships to effectively position solutions within target accounts and programs.
  • Understand customers’ current needs and anticipate their future needs, enabling demand creation activities for the wide adoption of NASAM’s entire portfolio.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and growth opportunities in South Korea, and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders to inform business decision-making.
  • Manage sales forecasts, pipeline development, opportunity tracking, and revenue projections for assigned customers and market segments.
  • Work independently to lead daily commercial activities including, but not limited to, customer inquiries, quotation requests, purchase orders, shipments, and claims resolution.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate within the NASAM organization to ensure timely support of customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Lead customer meetings, business reviews, supplier visits, and commercial presentations.
  • Represent NASAM at industry conferences, exhibitions, customer events, and supplier meetings throughout South Korea.

Education and/or Experience


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or related field is preferred. Equivalent industry experience will be considered. 
  • Seven (7) + years of experience in B2B and/or B2G sales, business development, or account management experience in the Korean market.
  • Experience selling into Korean defense, aerospace, or government customers is required.
  • Existing relationships within Korean defense and aerospace organizations are highly desired.
  • Prior experience with a Korean electronic component distributor, defense contractor, or aerospace supplier is highly desired.
  • Experience selling electronic components, subsystems, or technical solutions is highly desired. 
  • Bilingual in Korean and English is required.


Required Skills

  • Language: Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers. Business level writing and intermediate level speaking in English. 
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, & percentages. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. 
  • Other Abilities: Must have solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking and be able to use large amounts of data to make strategic decisions. Must possess thorough knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic, preferably with Quantum ERP. Must have knowledge to apply general use of databases/spreadsheets. Ability to complete the planning of workflow and meetings. Maintains effective internal controls to ensure protection of assets and an accurate reporting of financial position. Must have strong organizational, project, and proposal management skills. Must possess basic knowledge and understanding of different electronic components. Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite.
