Our Research Associates play critical support roles across projects, including, supporting project managers with management and administration of projects; bringing basic knowledge of research and evaluation methods that allow them to support development of protocols and instruments/tools; supporting our client projects by providing responsive technical assistance to clients; carrying out defined tasks that contribute substantively to the production of deliverables; and, communicating independently with internal and external project partners.

Key Qualifications

  • Commitment to equity and social impact with demonstrated interest in at least one of Omni’s core areas: Community Health, Behavioral Health, Adult & Juvenile Justice, Economic Security, or Children & Families.
  • Strong project coordination skills, including experience tracking tasks, managing meeting notes and agendas, drafting communications, and supporting project workflows.
  • Training or experience in applied research methods (qualitative or quantitative), typically a master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree with at least two years of work experience.
  • Experience providing technical assistance—such as training, coaching, or resource development—that helps community partners strengthen capacity and meet project goals.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with diverse community partners and clearly translate technical or complex information for different audiences.
  • Curiosity and adaptability, with a willingness to take on new projects, explore unfamiliar content areas, and learn new skills and methods.
  • Attention to detail and accountability, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and uphold high standards in project work.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.


What this role will look like

As a Research Associate at Omni Institute, you will play a support role on project teams while building your skills and experience. You will work closely with project managers and senior staff to keep projects on track, provide responsive technical assistance to client partners, and contribute to high-quality deliverables.


Some of your typical work may include:

  • Taking notes during project team-meetings; summarizing and distributing the notes after the meeting; creating follow-up tasks for team-members in our project management software.
  • Working closely with the project lead to regularly review the project management plan, summarizing project status for the project lead, identifying areas for follow-up, and drafting team meeting agendas.
  • Working closely with the project lead to draft client communications, meeting agendas, project invoicing status updates, and other communications.
  • Providing proactive and responsive technical assistance (training, support, coaching through technical tasks related to our projects) to client partners that are aligned with project goals.
  • Monitoring process and outcome data to identify data quality concerns and support organizations in addressing emerging issues
  • Participating in technical assistance activities by providing logistical support for trainings, preparing handouts, or helping to answer client questions.
  • Assisting with data collection and analysis tasks such as entering or organizing survey responses, preparing focus group guides, or helping to summarize participant feedback.
  • Identifying articles for a literature review, identify key article themes, and create summaries to support project research.
  • Identifying key learnings and improvements from projects and contribute new and improved approaches to our knowledge management and best practice teams.

Salary & Benefits

This is a full-time position with an annual salary of $54,636 plus benefits*, which include:

Location

This is a remote position anywhere within the continental US states.

Omni Institute’s headquarters are in Denver, CO, where we have a co-working office for staff to work from. Employees who work from home/remotely must have a suitable home office environment. We try to limit work travel, but employees can expect some travel for client meetings, conferences, or company meetings (expected up to 5% of the time).
