General Responsiblities

  1. Provide medical and clinical oversight of behavioral health and SUD services. 
  2. Serve as Medical Director for Agency behavioral health programs. Provide direct patient care including but not limited to: Psychiatric diagnostic evaluations, Psychiatric and SUD assessments, Medication management, Psychotropic medication prescribing, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MOUD/MAT). 
  3. As clinically appropriate, provide Crisis psychiatric consultation, Suicide and violence risk assessments, Treatment planning, Patient and family education, Laboratory review and medication monitoring, Withdrawal management consultation within scope of practice, Telepsychiatry services when applicable. 
  4. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings. Consulting with therapists, CADCs, counselors, case managers, nursing staff, and leadership to review complex cases and support clinical decision-making for high-risk clients. 
  5. Engage in quality assurance activities including but not limited to: periodic chart reviews and documentation sign-offs. 
  6. Promote evidence-based psychiatric and substance use treatment. 
  7. Participate in Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement initiatives. 
  8. Develop, review, and approve clinical policies, procedures, standing orders, and clinical protocols. 
  9. Assist with strategic planning and service expansion.
  10. Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.


Requirements
  1. Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. 
  2. Graduate of an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program. 
  3. Current unrestricted Illinois APRN license
  4. At least three years of clinical training or experience in community mental health, outpatient, or hospital environments.
  5. Current Illinois Controlled Substance License, DEA Registration, a National Provider Identifier required and maintained in good standing.
  6. Enroll or ability to enroll in Illinois Medicaid enrollment 
  7. Eligible for Medicare credentialing and commercial insurance credentialing
  8. Proficiency with electronic health record software systems.
  9. Familiarity with office equipment such as phone systems, fax machines, and copiers.
  10. Ability to interact professionally with the public both in person and on the telephone.
  11. Adhere to the Agency’s Code of Ethics and conduct all responsibilities in accordance with the standards outlined in the Employee Handbook. 
  12. A valid driver’s license, reliable means of transportation and proof of liability insurance is required.
Salary Description
$120/hour 5-10 hours/week
