In this role, you’ll design and develop complex Salesforce solutions that support critical business processes and deliver scalable, secure technology for Collegis Education and its partners.
This role exists to provide technical leadership across the Salesforce development lifecycle by translating business needs into effective application and integration architecture, guiding solution design, and mentoring other technical resources.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and participate in the development of Salesforce solutions using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, Force.com, Salesforce APIs, SOQL, and related technologies
- Design scalable application and integration architecture across Salesforce environments, external applications, and enterprise systems
- Partner with clients, prospects, and internal project teams to understand requirements, present technical recommendations, and validate proposed solutions
- Participate in storyboarding, technical discovery, and overall solution design, including recommending alternative approaches, identifying technical impacts, and developing effort estimates
- Integrate business processes across multiple Salesforce instances and external systems using REST, SOAP, XML, web services, JavaScript, HTML, workflow tools, and other integration technologies
- Define and maintain development, deployment, and packaging methodologies for Salesforce applications
- Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, and ongoing support
- Collaborate with Salesforce and Salesforce-certified service partners on solution development and technical strategy
- Clearly communicate technical strategy, architectural decisions, risks, and project status to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Prepare requirements, solution designs, test cases, technical specifications, and other documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level Salesforce resources
- Promote consistent development standards, documentation practices, and quality assurance processes across the team
- Adhere to and enforce applicable information security policies based on the sensitivity of company and partner data
- Serve as a responsible data steward for assigned systems and applications, helping reduce the risk of theft, fraud, unauthorized access, or misuse of information assets
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience leading application or enterprise solution design efforts
- Advanced knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce APIs, and SOQL
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting complex Salesforce applications and integrations
- Experience integrating Salesforce with external systems and other Salesforce applications
- Experience working with web services and integration technologies such as REST, SOAP, XML, JavaScript, HTML, workflow tools, and related technologies
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into practical technical and functional solutions
- Experience working within an iterative or Agile software development methodology
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and technical documentation skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced IT environment
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support the development of other technical professionals
- Salesforce certifications in development-related areas
Work Environment: Collegis employs team members in a variety of locations across the country, supporting a flexible and distributed workforce. Depending on candidate location, this position may be structured as either remote or hybrid. Candidates located within 60 miles of our Oak Brook, IL office or a partner school will be expected to follow a hybrid schedule, working onsite 2–3 days per week to support collaboration and team engagement, while those outside this radius may work fully remotely. Specific expectations based on location will be discussed during the interview process.
