Network Engineer - 26-029 – San Diego, CA
As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members at NIWC PAC – Tidepools in the Point Loma area of San Diego, CA.
The Network Engineer will provide direct support to the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific working on the United States Navy Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) program. Support will include the following:
- ADNS Fleet Support and related services onsite or remote.
- Remote and onsite implementation installation and integration support.
- System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT) System and Platform SOVT documentation development for ship, sub and shore installations.
- Configuration Management (CM) of baseline artifacts and network templates.
- Manage system design and enhancements, Engineering Analysis and Studies and System Engineering Support of future ADNS development and capabilities.
- Support the improvement of the Wide Area Network/Local Area Network (WAN/LAN) posture by leading architecture research and re-design in support of future ADNS requirements.
- Support cybersecurity scans and updates to fielded systems for Antiterrorism Officer (ATO) renewal.
- Installation documentation Surface Warfare Officer and Environmental Conservation Operations (SWDs and ECOs) development.
- Systems engineering development, Agile development processes and testing.
- Engineering documentation development and review

- Must possess an active Secret clearance.
- Must have current Security+ CE and CCNA certifications.
- BS in Engineering or Computer Science related field or equivalent years of experience and 8+ years’ experience.
- Experience with configuration, handling and troubleshooting of HAIPE equipment (KG175D, KG175G, KG175F & KG250x) using Secure Dynamic Discovery (SDD).
- Experience working and troubleshooting network protocols, e.g., OSPF, BGP, VRRP, Spanning-tree MST.
- Experience with concepts, best practices, related networking concepts related to networking hardware/software to include LAN, WAN and Wireless technologies/architectures and procedures within network engineering/technical disciplines.
- Experience with planning and engineering of network architecture/infrastructure.
- Experience with network sniffers and network packet captures.
- Firm understanding of Multicast and WAN Acceleration.
- Experience with SDN / SD-WAN Technologies preferred.
- Experience with network modeling platforms such as Cisco Modeling Labs (CML) preferred.
- Experience with Cisco Network Services Orchestrator (NSO) and Cisco Provider Connectivity Assurance (PCA) preferred.
- Experience with Network Automation in Python, Ansible, NETCONF and/or RESTCONF highly desirable.
- Capable of working independently or in teams based on customer’s/project’s needs.
- Strong technical writing and verbal skills.
- Able to clearly document and deliver technical reports to senior leadership.
- May oversee and lead other employees assigned to the task(s).
Salary Range: $120K-$130K
Based on your qualifications, you will be placed in Level I-V.
An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.

AUSGAR’s salary range is dependent upon a variety of factors, which include experience, skills, education, certifications and geographical location. Our salary range includes a base salary and excellent benefits package as part of our total compensation.
