Assistant Teacher/Job Coach
Description

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Assistant Teacher/Job Coach to support high school students with disabilities as they develop the skills needed for successful employment and independent living. This unique position combines classroom support with hands-on job coaching in a community-based work environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and small-group instruction in a community-based work setting. 
  • Support students in developing vocational, social, workplace, and independent living skills. 
  • Reinforce classroom learning through practical, hands-on job experiences. 
  • Assist instructional staff in evaluating student growth and readiness for employment. 
  • Monitor and document daily activities, attendance, and skill development. 
  • Use positive reinforcement and individualized teaching strategies to promote success. 
  • Coach students in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management. 
  • Foster positive relationships with students, coworkers, employers, and community partners. 
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Job Coach Certification (Can obtain after employment) 
  • Minimum one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities 
  • Ability to pass Drug and Background Screenings 
  • Experience in special education, workforce development, vocational training, transition or job coaching services 
  • Knowledge of positive behavior supports and instructional strategies
