Bin Technician

Location: Van Buren, IN
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Summer hours may shift to 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM due to heat.)

What You'll Do

As a Bin Technician, you will:

  • Operate and maintain grain drying and storage systems. 
  • Monitor grain bins for temperature, moisture, airflow, and overall product quality. 
  • Collect corn samples for moisture, damage, and quality testing. 
  • Prepare and clean storage bins between fills. 
  • Unload incoming popcorn using grain handling equipment. 
  • Verify product placement and inventory within storage bins. 
  • Assist with bin inspections, cleanouts, and preventative maintenance. 
  • Probe storage bins and record quality data in AS400. 
  • Operate tractors, augers, and semi-trucks to transport and move corn. 
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to increase safety, efficiency, and product quality.  

Harvest Season

Harvest typically begins in September and may continue into early the following year depending on weather conditions. During the 6–8 week harvest season, grain receiving operations may run up to 12 hours per day, including weekends, providing additional overtime opportunities.

  • Double Time on Sundays 
  • Time-and-a-Half after 40 hours worked in a workweek

Requirements

What We're Looking For:


Required:

  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English to perform job duties effectively and safely.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 80 feet
  • Flexible schedule to support operational needs, including weekends or extended shifts
  • Drive a semi-truck 
  • Drive farm related equipment

Preferred:

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Experience with grain handling or agricultural equipment
  • Basic understanding of product conditioning and storage environments
