Position Summary
We are seeking a Environmental Compliance Field Inspector with 3-5 years of experience performing construction site inspections. This role is responsible for monitoring and evaluating construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permit requirements, and project-specific environmental commitments.
The Environmental Compliance Field Inspector conducts field inspections, reviews construction work plans and environmental documentation, prepares detailed technical reports, and communicates compliance findings to project stakeholders. This role works closely with project teams to identify potential environmental issues, document non-compliance, and support the implementation of corrective actions.
The ideal candidate has strong technical writing and analytical skills, experience performing construction site inspections, and the ability to interpret environmental specifications and regulatory requirements while working throughout the NY/NJ metropolitan area.
- Perform field audits of environmental documentation and field activities
- Provide oversight of construction as it relates to environmental compliance
- Review Construction Work Plans and regular reporting on compliance with FEIS/ROD and environmental permitting standards
- Prepare daily activity reports
- Write technical reports and attend on-site meetings
- Ability to interpret scientific data and specifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology or a closely related discipline
- 3-5 years of prior experience performing construction site inspections
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to travel throughout the NY/NJ Metro Area
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience providing environmental inspections in and for NY, NJ and/or NYC agencies
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (and current refreshers)
