Reporting Relationship: Chief Operating Officer
Primary Accountability:
The Manager is responsible for the day to day store operations, including scheduling, training, and supervising employees. The Manager is responsible for managing all controllable expenses including labor, inventory, and cash.
Major Duties:
• Problem resolution of all customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean, adequately stocked, organized, and well kept.
• Ensures all merchandise is stocked and displays are attractive, priced correctly, and displayed in a safe manner.
• Completes daily paperwork and data entry in a timely manner as established by management.
• Monitors cash and inventory variances on a daily basis.
• Follows and enforces all company policies and established procedures in the store operations.
• Ensures all POS advertising/signage is properly posted at the proper time.
• Communicates and performs all price change requests and mark downs/ups.
• Manages safety and security procedures and reports any and all unsafe conditions.
• Manages staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific job duties.
• Provides guidance to others through motivation, direction, review, and feedback of assigned tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; Degree in Business Administration or Management is preferred.
• Three (3) years of related work experience in retail sales is required; five (5) years of related work experience is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen and math proficiency test.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through both verbal and written skills.
• Ability to think critically and use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, approaches and conclusions to problems.
• Ability to make decisions while exhibiting sound and accurate judgment.
• Ability to set goals and objectives with the motivation to overcome challenging obstacles.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships with customers, coworkers and vendors.
• Ability to amend the schedule and assist with additional coverage, as needed.
• Ability to work independently, as a team member and leader.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to read computer screens and mail, talk on the phone.
• Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to ten (10) hours.
• Ability to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
Work Environment:
• Professional and deadline-oriented environment in a retail setting.
• Interaction with staff, customers and vendors.
