The purpose of this classification is to provide clerical work functions associated with collection of delinquent accounts at the corporate level, assisting corporate and store personnel with issues regarding bankruptcy, credit disputes, legal inquiries, customer, trustee, and attorney calls, and reducing company stores and corporate bad debts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties such as answering incoming calls, relaying messages to staff members, providing information and assistance, sorting and distributing departmental mail, faxing information, posting information to accounts, data entry, typing and distributing letters, reports, memos, etc.
- Receives assigned bankruptcy information from individual stores, accounts for documents, transfers account to bankruptcy receivable if necessary, and routes appropriate information as needed.
- Monitors weekly and monthly aging reports for any negative trend.
- Monitors delinquent accounts to assure proper and timely filing of the bankruptcy claim is completed by assigned attorney.
- Meets or exceeds all goals related to collection call volume and recovery dollars collected as set by Director of Corporate Credit Operations.
- Assures accurate accounting for and timely posting of all payments received from the Trustees office.
- Communicates with Attorney, Trustee or individual about accounts.
- Performs skip traces as needed.
- Processes and maintains the application for and renewal of insurance license for store agents.
- Posts Insurance payments and updates reports.
- Maintains attorney reports and attorney billing authorizations.
- Completes, prepares, routes a variety of forms, logs, requests, records, reports, correspondence, and other documents associated with daily responsibilities of this position; prepares and maintains files and records.
- Operates a computer terminal, printer, calculator, copy machines, or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, Internet, or other system software.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
- Substitutes for subordinates or other co-workers in temporary absence of same.
- Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED with one year of accounting, bookkeeping, and/or general office/clerical experience; or any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
