Description

Sun-Maid Growers of California is currently looking for Journeyman Processing Mechanic with experience in large industrial conveyors, shakers, airlocks, bucket elevators, bin washers, dryer, and trailers. 

Work Environment

Candidates must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment and perform duties indoor or outdoor in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment issues during line calls and take appropriate corrective action. 

• Request assistance when needed in a timely manner.

• Assist with overhauling, rebuilding, and maintaining equipment.

• Perform fabrication work as assigned.

• Operate and maintain equipment properly by following instructions and established procedures.

• Assist with all phases of maintenance, including fabricating, welding, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing required preventive maintenance.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of training or experience working with large equipment (Conveyors, Airlocks, Vacuum systems, bucket elevators, fabrication, welding, shakers, hydraulic, pneumatic, bin washer, dryer).

• Experience trouble shooting mechanical drive systems (motors, gearboxes, etc.)

• Follow Directions both verbal and written.

• Follow Lockout/tag out procedures, all OSHA and company policies and best practices.

• Must have basic mechanical skills, and the ability to work with basic hand tools.

• Be able to read and understand basic blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals

• Learn to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment

• Good problem solving and critical thinking skills.

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Good mathematical skills.

• Ability and desire to work up to higher level maintenance position.
