Employee Benefits Senior Risk Advisor

Position Summary: 

The Employee Benefits Risk Advisor is responsible for driving new business growth by developing and executing a strategic sales pipeline focused on employee benefits solutions. This individual is a true hunter with a proven ability to identify, prospect, and close new client opportunities while building long-term relationships with business owners and key decision-makers. The ideal candidate has at least five years of successful sales experience within an employee benefits insurance agency and a strong understanding of group health, ancillary benefits, and employee benefits consulting. This role requires a highly motivated, results-driven professional who thrives in a competitive environment, consistently exceeds sales goals, and collaborates with internal service teams to deliver exceptional client experiences 



Essential Job Functions: 

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to generate new employee benefits business and consistently meet or exceed annual sales goals. 
  • Build, manage, and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects through networking, referrals, cold calling, digital outreach, and community engagement. 
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with employers ranging from small businesses to large organizations. 
  • Conduct client discovery meetings to understand organizational goals, workforce challenges, and employee benefits needs. 
  • Design and present customized employee benefits solutions, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, and wellness programs. 
  • Collaborate with internal account management, underwriting, and carrier partners to develop competitive proposals and deliver comprehensive client solutions. 
  • Negotiate and close new business opportunities while maintaining strong client relationships throughout the sales process. 
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with business owners, executives, HR leaders, and key decision-makers. 
  • Maintain an active presence in the marketplace through industry associations, networking events, trade organizations, and community involvement.


Requirements

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to generate new business through prospecting, networking, cold calling, referrals, and relationship development. 
  • Demonstrated success as a hunter with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue goals. 
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits products, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, and ancillary insurance offerings. 
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and closing skills with the ability to influence executive-level decision-makers. 
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. 
  • Ability to build credibility and establish long-term relationships with clients, prospects, carrier partners, and internal stakeholders. 
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify client needs and develop customized employee benefits strategies. 
  • Highly organized with exceptional time management and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
