Mold Maintenance Technician
Description

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Injection Mold Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance on injection molds, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

Available Shifts: 

2nd Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm with a $1.00 Shift Differential

3rd Shift 10:00PM- 6:30AM with a $2.50 Shift Differential


Your Day to Day:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on injection molds according to established schedules.
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble molds using precision tools and equipment.
  • Identify and repair worn or damaged mold components.
  • Assist with mold changeovers and insert changes as required by the production schedule.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation using CMMS or similar systems.
  • Collaborate with process technicians, toolmakers, and production staff to troubleshoot mold-related issues.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety, quality, and ISO standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to mold performance and reliability.
  • Commitment to 5S, including:
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining a clean organized, and efficient workplace by applying the principles of 5S.
  • Actively participate in keeping the work environment orderly.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows.
  • Adhere to established standards to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Support continuous improvement by fostering an atmosphere of respect for materials, equipment, and shared spaces.
  • Encourage team accountability for sustaining a well-organized workplace.

What We Would Love About You:

  • High school diploma or GED required, technical training or certification in mold maintenance or tooling preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in mold maintenance or a related field within an injection molding environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with mold components and functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficient with hand tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of 5S, PDCA, SMED, Kaizen and other key principles of continuous improvement
