POSITION PURPOSE

The Treasury Operations Analyst is responsible for the daily reconciliation, settlement, transaction execution and balancing of the credit union's core payment and clearing channels, including ACH, ATM settlements, wire transfers, Zelle, and foreign currency activity. This role ensures that funds moving between the credit union, the Federal Reserve, corporate credit union partners, and third-party payment networks are accurately recorded, reconciled, and documented in accordance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. The specialist also supports various liquidity tracking, balance sheet management reporting, review and release of accounts payable processing.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Daily Reconciliation & Balancing

  • Assist management with Balance Sheet management initiatives with strategy implementation and reporting.
  • Perform daily balancing of the ACH in-process account, confirming that funds moving in and out of the check-clearing account match system-generated totals; research and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Complete Day 2 balancing of prior-day ATM, mobile, and merchant deposits, confirming recorded totals match amounts received from the Federal Reserve; research and correct any out-of-balance conditions.
  • Reconcile the corporate credit union account daily, confirming activity matches system records.
  • Reconcile daily Zelle activity, confirming person-to-person payment totals match Zelle network reporting (member-facing dispute resolution is handled by a separate role).

Settlement & Documentation

  • Manage custody of daily, weekly and monthly supporting documentation to confirm accuracy of all postings.
  • Gather and review daily ATM settlement reports from General Ledger and supporting Sub-Ledgers to confirm accurate card/member transaction posting.

Wire Transfers & Cash Management

  • Process wire transfers through corporate credit union partners on behalf of the credit union
  • Process wire transfer to fund branch cash orders and credit union investments.
  • Support daily cash positioning, bank reconciliations, cash allocations, and Treasury payments.
  • Assist with short- and medium-term cash flow forecasting and liquidity monitoring.
  • Support daily efforts to manage the Credit Union Balance Sheet to maximize return on CU assets and execute on Balance Sheet Strategy implementation.

Accounts Payable Support

  • Review and approve the weekly Accounts Payable runs to tighten controls and facilitate timely vendor payments.
Requirements
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; equivalent work experience considered. 


EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years of experience in credit union or bank operations, treasury, or accounting, preferably involving balance sheet management, daily general ledger balancing, reconciliations, ACH, wire, or ATM settlement processes. 


KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge related to cash management and its important role to the Credit Union.
  • Working knowledge of ACH, wire transfer, and ATM/card settlement processes.
  • Familiarity with Federal Reserve clearing and settlement operations.
  • Proficiency with core processing and reconciliation systems (e.g., Insight, Fiserv, Prologue, iDentifi, Client Central) or ability to learn proprietary systems quickly.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and research balancing discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple daily deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong internal controls and documentation standards.
