Pay   Grade(s): 5 ($20.88-23.49+ DOE) 


 

Purpose: The Shuttle Van   Driver provides safe, reliable, and courteous transportation for guests and   visitors. This position operates an organizational shuttle van on established   or assigned routes, assists passengers as needed, and helps ensure a positive   and welcoming transportation experience.

 

Essential Functions. An   individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with   or without reasonable accommodation:

· Safely operate a   shuttle van to transport guests and visitors to designated locations.

· Provide scheduled and   on-demand passenger transportation as assigned.

· Pick up and drop off   passengers in a timely, safe, and courteous manner.

· Assist passengers with   entering and exiting the vehicle and with luggage or personal belongings when   appropriate.

· Provide friendly and   professional customer service to passengers.

· Follow assigned   routes, schedules, and transportation instructions.

· Maintain awareness of   road, traffic, and weather conditions and adjust driving practices   accordingly.

· Conduct basic pre-trip   and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report safety or maintenance   concerns.

· Maintain the   cleanliness and general appearance of the shuttle vehicle.

· Ensure the vehicle is   fueled and ready for scheduled transportation needs.

· Follow all applicable   traffic laws, safety requirements, and organizational policies.

· Maintain required   trip, mileage, inspection, or other transportation records.

· Immediately report   vehicle accidents, incidents, passenger concerns, or safety issues to the   appropriate supervisor.

· Safeguard   organizational vehicles, keys, fuel cards, and other assigned property.

· Perform other related   duties as assigned.

 


Requirements

· Knowledge of safe   driving practices and applicable traffic laws.

· Ability to safely   operate a passenger shuttle van in varying road and weather conditions.

· Ability to follow   schedules, routes, maps, and verbal or written directions.

· Ability to communicate   professionally and respectfully with guests and visitors.

· Ability to work   independently and use good judgment.

· Ability to maintain   dependable attendance and punctuality.

· Ability to complete   basic vehicle inspections and recognize potential safety or maintenance   concerns.

· Ability to maintain   required transportation records.

· Ability to maintain   confidentiality and professional conduct.


Minimum   Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

· High school diploma or   equivalent 

· Must be 21 years of   age with a Valid Drivers License


Preferred   Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

· Previous professional driving, shuttle, transportation,   hospitality, or customer service experience preferred


Physical Requirements. The physical demands described here are representative of   those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential   functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation:

· Ability   to sit and operate a motor vehicle for extended periods.

· Ability   to safely operate a passenger shuttle vehicle with seating for up to 14   passengers and a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of up to 26,000 pounds.

· Ability   to frequently enter and exit a passenger vehicle.

· Ability   to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.

· Ability   to work outdoors and in varying weather and road conditions.
