Description
Join our team as a Catering Supervisor and play a key role in delivering exceptional hospitality experiences at one of our premier corporate dining accounts This hands-on leadership position is responsible for overseeing daily catering operations, supervising and developing staff, coordinating events, and ensuring outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while leading by example and maintaining the highest standards of food service, safety, and professionalism.
- Weekly and daily alterations to the schedule of employees based on business; ensure coverage daily from 7am to 5pm.
- Develop hourly staff to create an evolving cohesive team, including training of technical skills and customer service traits
- Ensuring that all parts for catering and commons are maintained, and product is rotated
- Communicate regularly with our client's Hospitality team to ensure special requests are met
- Input catering orders into the internal ordering system
- Input and coordinate hybrid events into ordering system and send staff requests
- Lead by example with team and as needed set, deliver and clean catering orders.
- Daily communication with our client, warehouse team and kitchen about next day orders
- Oversee room set-ups, ensuring floorplans are followed to client request
- Manage activities of cooks (when catering calls for cooks) and dishwasher to oversee food production and cleanliness of entire foodservice areas
- Monitor Mickey’s Linens to ensure linen count sufficient for weekly events
- Ensure chef is tending to finish needs of the delivered catered food
- Collaborate with the front-of-house café manager to share staff resources as needed
- Work with Paramount Events full-service sales team to coordinate and execute events
- Report all incoming TPG event staff to Welcome Desk
- Assist with managing utility staff to ensure all equipment, floors, and walls are clean and sanitary
- Maintain organized and clean office spaces
- Ensure uniform guidelines are enforced
- Create and maintain cleaning schedule for deep cleaning of equipment (e.g. daily, weekly, monthly)
- Ensure health code, per city of Chicago inspection process.
- Develop positive and professional relationships with client liaisons
- Report broken or malfunctioning equipment as needed, to ensure timely repairs
- Participate in progressive discipline for staff, as needed.
- Work at TPG headquarters as requested and at catering events as requested
- Complete assigned projects in a timely manner, per stated deadlines
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in catering, hospitality, or food service.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Experience coordinating catering events and managing staff.
- Basic computer proficiency (email, Microsoft Office, and ordering systems).
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
