SHINE COORDINATOR
Description

The SHINE Program Coordinator supports the SHINE Liaison/Supervisor in the planning, coordination, and day-to-day operations of the SHINE Program. This position assists with volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention; coordinates community outreach and public awareness initiatives to promote program services; supports daily call center operations to ensure timely, high-quality customer service; and provides administrative support, including maintaining program supplies, educational materials, and outreach resources. The Coordinator works collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners to enhance program awareness, strengthen service delivery, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and program requirements

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Support the SHINE Liaison/Supervisor in the planning, coordination, and daily operation of the SHINE Program.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and retain SHINE volunteers to support program goals and service delivery.
  • Coordinate volunteer orientation, mentoring, training schedules, and ongoing professional development activities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in community outreach events, presentations, health fairs, and educational programs to increase public awareness of SHINE services.
  • Assist in the development and distribution of outreach and educational materials, including print and digital communications.
  • Support daily call center operations by monitoring workflow, managing referrals, and helping ensure timely, high-quality customer service. Including annual open enrollment. 
  • Coordinate scheduling and communication with volunteers, staff, and community partners.
  • Maintain inventories of program supplies, outreach materials, and educational resources, and coordinate ordering as needed.
  • Maintain accurate program records, reports, and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and program requirements.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned to support organizational and program objectives.
  • Assist in the development, distribution, and maintenance of outreach and educational materials, including print and digital communications.
  • Assist in developing strategies to recruit diverse and qualified volunteers throughout the service area.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Health and Human Services or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in volunteer management, customer service, communications, community outreach, social services, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff, volunteers, community partners, clients, and the general public.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical procedures, governmental and nongovernmental regulations, policies, and program guidance.

Conditions of Employment

  • The selected candidate must meet and maintain the following requirements as a condition of employment:
  • Successfully pass and maintain eligibility under a Level II Background Screening in accordance with Florida law, Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Successfully complete all required Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) training, including BT09 Training, within established timeframes and maintain any required certifications or continuing education requirements thereafter.
  • Demonstrate the ability to comply with all applicable federal, state, local, organizational, and program-specific policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS


This position requires regular interaction with volunteers, community partners, and the public and may involve 40% local travel for outreach events, training, and community engagement activities.


When the employee  works in an office environment or home office (if required), uses computers, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate. 


Sedentary work primarily involves sitting and standing. Required to use repetitive hand motion, talk, handle, reach, hear, bend, or lift up to 20 pounds.
